GRAYSON MABUGO

Mr. Mabugo is head of Maritime law department. His team has expertise in laws and matters governing shipping and maritime business.

Mr. Mabugo and his team have extensive experience on registration of ships and other marine vessels. The team also handles commercial disputes and matters arising from sea transport business and maritime law in general. They provide advice to clients i.e. shippers, vessels owners, carriers, consignees and marine transport specialists on matters pertaining admiralty and maritime law. They also prepare instruments which are used in shipping business such as Charter parties, Bills of lading etc.

Mr. Grayson is a managing partner at BeonLegal.

ELIZABETH CHARLES MKONY

Ms. Elizabeth is the head of corporate and intellectual property department at BeonLegal. Elizabeth and her team have vast experience on Intellectual Property (IP) matters such as registration, renewal and protection of trademarks and services marks, Patent registrations at local and international level, industrial designs, geographical locations, copyrights and trade secrets.

Also Ms. Elizabeth has breadth experience on corporate matters and compliance. Elizabeth and her team help clients to set up business in the United Republic of Tanzania, advising clients on proper business organizations suitable for their businesses, provide secretarial services to companies and other corporations and advising on compliance matters stemming from the Companies laws.

 

TANWIE Walson Emmanuel (Senior IP Portfolio Manager)

Walson born on May 06, 1986, is the lead on IP Matters in Beon Legal, the smart and fast growing IP FIRM in West Africa. Before Walson joined our team, he worked as an IP Consultant for Sub-Sahara Africa for the renowned IP FIRM – ABU GHAZALEH INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY – AGIP, since January 2018 – December 2023, in Cameroon, Djibouti & Tanzania. Walson is a Committee member of INTA’s Trademark Admnistrators’ Committee (January 2024-December 2025).

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Delegate and supervise the filing of intellectual property rights applications and protection trademark watch services and market investigation for clients’ registered trademarks.
  2. Create and maintained sub-sahara IP Firms partnership.
  3. Identify and train staffs on IP Matters.
  4. Be the IP Face of BEON LEGAL.
  5. Build and maintain new relationship with new and existing clients.
  6. Review and draft license agreements, NDAs, and other contracts.
  7. IP litigation, conduct trademark searches and provide input on trademark filings.
  8. Publications and development on IP in Tanzania and Zanzibar and the sub-region of ARIPO and Liaison with ARIPO, OAPI, USPTO & EUIPO, KIPA & CNIPA and INTA.

Academic Qualifications

KOGAN MTIPE

Mr. Kogan Mtipe is the head of commercial law and litigation department. Mr. Kogan and his team have quantum experience in commercial law specialized in Mining, Oil, Gas and Energy business. He advises clients who are mostly investors in mining sector and industrial sector in Tanzania. He has been engaged in different transactions involving mineral business and setting up place of business for international mining companies.  

Also Mr. Kogan and his team have successfully handled a number of commercial disputes in courts of law, tribunals and bodies.

BENJAMIN MATOLA

Pursue bachelor of Law (LLB) at Ruaha Catholic University 2020. His core practice include a wide range of corporate and commercial issues with a particular on mining, companyformation, company secretarial service amongst others.
